Why become a member?

Dear Colleagues,

As you are well aware, the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) is the primary research organisation in Dental Medicine. The Continental European Division (CED) is one of its branches and encompasses Albania, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Yugoslavia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and Ukraine.

For dental researchers in these countries the CED offers a unique set of opportunities:

-          Building of networks with other researchers

-          Contacts in a close geographical environment

-          Annual meetings with the possibility to follow present and future activities in all fields of dental research

-          Presentation of research data in the form of abstracts as talks or posters

-          Publication of these abstracts in the Journal of Dental Research

-          Concise state of the art symposia on specific topics

-          Satellite symposia on specific topics

-          Possibility to interact with researchers from other fields

-          Benefit from various stipends provided to young researchers

-          Eligibility for awards and participation in research competitions

Whereas the IADR at large basically offers similar opportunities, the CED has the distinct advantage of a geographically more concise outline (research contact closer by, less traveling, easier interaction with colleagues due to the size of the annual congress, awards and stipends limited to CED members, similar or equal sources for funding).

Recently, the Pan European Region of the IADR, of which the CED is a member, has been founded to allow the organisation of larger European meetings on a bi-annual basis.

Joining the CED will allow you to profit on all these areas.
